If you need help

Dorothy Day Hospitality House provides the following services (all at 11 Spring Street in Danbury):

  • Breakfast -- every day at 7am
  • Afternoon meal -- every day from 3:15pm to 4:45pm -- takeout sandwich bags are also available
  • Shelter from the Cold --Winter months -- Nov 15-April 15 -- 6pm to 8:30pm -- The kitchen will be open to give you a place to sit and warm up.   Food may or may not be served.
  • Shelter -- every night at 9pm -- guests leave at 6am -- maximum stay 30 days during summer months -- no children -- over 18 only.
Services are also available at Danbury City Shelter (41 New Street -- 203-796-1661) for documented Connecticut residents.

If you are homeless in the Danbury area,  Off the Streets can help you get into housing.   Please call 203-733-5880.   See www.offthestreetsnow.com for more information.   If you have a source of income (job or disability), you can get a place of your own.

Everyone is welcome at Dorothy Day Hospitality House.   There are no restrictions of any kind, and no paperwork to fill out!!
